This musical comedy tells the tale of Hercules, the son of Zeus and Hera, who grows up on Earth after Hades makes him mortal. However, Hercules is still left with super strength and spends his life feeling like he doesn’t belong. When he discovers that he is a demigod, he seeks to become a hero to return to Mount Olympus.
Hercules in London includes audience-favourite songs from the film, including Go The Distance, which was nominated for a 1998 Academy Award for Best Original Song. Other songs included are From Zero to Hero, and I Won’t Say I’m in Love. This show has been years in the making. In 2017, Alan Menken announced he was working on the music for a stage version of Hercules. Since then, the production has been created by numerous talented individuals, including Olivier Award nominee Kwame Kwei-Armah and Tony Award winner Robert Horn, who wrote the musical book.
