The ancient Roman town and its inhabitants were buried by a blanket of ash and pumice from the devastating eruption of the Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. But thanks to successful archaeological works, today you can admire some of the city´s most important buildings such as the Stabian Baths, the Forum, the theatre areas, the House of the Faun, the House of the Tragic Poet and the brothel.
